Sustainable Action Nepal: la nostra storia

Ciao a tutti!

Sustainable Action Nepal: our story

Ciao everyone! Since July I am in Nepal with my partner Marty to shoot a documentary about how Nepal is recovering after the 2015 earthquake using sustainable methods. Our hub will be Hasera Learning Centre  where they implemented permaculture principles - care for the earth, for peple and sharing resourses - to help the communities around to recover after the earthquake providing a bamboo shelter and solar panels for power [...]

Why I came back to Nepal in 2017?

I feel 2017 is a special year: new political elections in Nepal after nearly 20 years; the International Permaculture Convergence takes place in India; it's been two years since the big earthquake in Nepal happened. Walking through the smelly smoke makes you feel like a small particle burning into ashes in the air. But it also houses the holy Shivalinga (the holy symbol of Lord Shiva). Death and Life are intertwined here. On [...]

Dreaming of Bhaktapur

Wandering in the streets of Bhaktapur, you realize this village just outside Kathmandu, is frozen in a forgotten time. People have a different spirit compared to some other busy areas in the capital. Along the streets, carpets of wheat paint the squares like gold. Typical handicrafts cover the small shops where you can find [...]

Lumbini, Siddhartanagar

Crossing the boarder between India and Nepal, I decided to visit the birthplace of Buddha first. The Terai is a crosscultural area where India and Nepal traditions merges to create an incredible atmosphere. Although the site of the birthplace itself is made of just a stone housed in a shrine, there is much more to [...]

Pokhara Lake City

Pokhara was a very chilling and fascinating place to stay. It is the reign of extreme sports. I tried paragliding indeed and I was flying high with condors all around. A sensation of ultimate freedom. I witnessed there two main Nepali festivals - Dashain, the longest festival ever which includes the Nepali New Year, and [...]
